.An ordinanoe amending and re-enacting Sections 701 and 702 of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903.
Be it ordained by the City Counoil of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SEOTION l. That Sections 701 and 702 of the Revised Ordinano~s
of Salt Lake 01 ty of 1903, be, and the same hereby are amended and
re-enaoted so as to read as follows:
701. PERMIT TO OCCUPY STREET WITH BUILDING MATERIAL. BO
It slall be unlawful tor any person to occupy or use any portio
of a publio street for the erection or repair of any building
upon land abutting thereon, without first making applios.tion to
and receiving from the City Council, a permit for the oooupatio
or use, for building purposes, o .f suoh portions of streets, and
for such periods of time and under such limitations and reatrio
tions as may be required by ordinance or by the public conven-
ience; irov~d~4, that no permit shall be granted to occupy more
than fifteen feet from the curb line, and an:¡- such permit may
be revoked by the Oit¡ Council, at &nf time, when t~e holder
thereof fails to oomplJ with an7 rula or regulation under which!
it is granted, or when, in the o~inion of the City Council, the
publio good requires auoh revocation. lo such permit shall be
granted until the applioant therefor shall have given a bond in
the sum of 15,000.00, to be approved by the City Council. Such
bond shall run to Salt Lake City and to any person injured by
reason of the failure of the principal therein to oomply with
the provisions of this section and Section 702 of the ordinance
of this oity. No part of a street other than that so allotted
shall be usad for depositing materials for work to be done or
for receiving rubbish arising from such work, and all such rub-
bish shall be carried away by the person to whom the permit is
granted, and at such times as the City Council or the Superviso
of Streéts may direct, and in oas e of the neglect or

Any person so occupying any portion of any street shall be res-
ponsible to the City for all injuries sustained by any person
in consequence of any failure to strictly comply with the pro-
visions of this section.

SEOTIOJ.ll 2. All ordina.noes and resolutions or parts of ordinan-
ces and resolutions in oonfliot herewith are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict.
This ordinance shall take effect upon approval •
