Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Fourth South Street between Sixth West and Eighth West Streets,
and on Eighth West Street between Second South and Tenth South
Streets, in Paving Districts Nos. 29 and 33, for the purpose of
providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, constructing
drainage system and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nes. 29
and 33, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and
curbing,tksna oonstruoting drainage system, and paving thereof,
to-wit:
In Lots 16 and 16, Block 1; 15 and 16, Block 2, Heath's Sub-
division, Block 39; 2 to 5, inclusive, Block 34; 26 and 27, Block
1; 26 and 27, Block 2, Coates & Corum's Subdivision, Block 27; 68
to 85, inclusive, Wick's Subdivision, Block 22; 1 and 32, Block 1;
1 and 32, Block 2, Heath's Subdivision, Block 40; 1 and 8, Block
33; 1 and 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 10, City Park Subdivision,
Block 28; 1, and 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 1, City Park Subdivision,
Block 21, all is Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both
sides of Eighth West Street between Second South and Sixth South
Streets.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, construoting drainage system of cement,
vitrified, corrugated iron and wrought iron pipe, and paving with
Utah rook asphalt roadways (said roadways on Fourth South Street
to be as follows: Between Sixth West Street and the west end of
the viaduct, two twenty-five foot roadways with forty-two foot
viaduct between; between the west end of the viaduct and Seventh
West Street, a seventy-two foot roadway; and between Seventh West
and Eighth West Streets, a sixty foot roadway; and said roadways
on Eighth West Street to be as follows: Between Second South and
Ninth South Streets, a sixty foot roadway; and between Ninth South
and Tenth South Streets, a forty foot roadway, all of said roadwaye
jto be eight (8) inches thick with five (6) inch concrete base,
one (1) inch binder, and two (2) inoh topping) , upon the portions
of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve
ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied., and said parcels of land are here-
by assessed at an equal and uniform rats in accordance with the
;linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets, fronting
upon and to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet bank therefrom, and
,the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land:
is thirty-one thousand seven hundred ninety-five and 64/100
($131,796.64) dollars, or sii( and 28/100 ($6.28) dollars per front ;
foot of abutting property for sixty foot roadway (with double track)
there being 6063 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said districts,
which is the total cost and oost per front foot of said improve-
.ment, according to the contract entered into for the performance
of said work and making said improvement, with G. A. Heman, Con-
'Itraotor, dated the 16th day of July, 1914, and the Treasurer is
!hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the

provisions of this ordinanoe, for the purpose herein mentioned:

The west side of Lots 15 and 16, Block 1; the west side of
Lots 15 and 16, Block 2, Reath's Subdivision, Block 39; the west
side of the north 73.5 feet, and the west side of the south 82.5
' feet of Lot 6, the west side of Lots 2 to 4, inclusive, Block 34;
the west side of Lots 26 and 27, Block 1; the west side of Lots 26
and 27, Block 2, Coates & Corum's Sublivision, Blook 27; the west
side of Lots 68 to 85, inclusive, Wick's Subdivision, Block 22;
the east side of Lots 1 and 32, Block 1; the east side of Lots 1
and 32, Block 2, Heath's Subdivision, Blook 40; the east side of
the north 102 feet, and the east side of the south 218 feet of Lot:
8, the east side of Lot 1, Block 33; the east side of Lots 1, and
80 to 56, inclusive, Block 10, City Park Subdivision, Block 28;
the east side of Lots 1, and 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 1, City
Park Subdivision, Block 21, all in Plat "C", Salt Lake City Surrey;;,
as the same are shown upon the offioial plats of said city to a
depth of twenty-five (25)) feet book from said street, and to collect
said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall bosoms and be delinquent in ten
' equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per sent per annum, payable at the time each
dinstallment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such .
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after
said ordinanoe becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
: years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there-
of in six years after said ordinance besomes effective; one-tenth
' thereof in seven years after said ordinanoe becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective;

Ioae•tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes
effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance;
, becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order'
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event,
of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the
date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the spesiai, tax
unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, aha11
become due and payable, and shall draw interest et the rate of eight
per cent per annum until the sale of the property aeseeeed; pre-

sided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day
! any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and
interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
rite first publication.
