W est Street between North Temple and First North Streets, in Paving District No. 28 (Paving Extension No. 57) , for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 28 (Paving Extension No. 57), for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lot 2, Block 97, Plat "An, Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the east side of Third West Street between North Temple and First North Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing and guttering with cement, constructing drainage system to carry water along and across streets and intersections, of cement, vitrified, corrugated iron and wrought iron pipe, and paving with Utah rock asphalt (said asphalt pavement to be ninety-two (92) feet between curbs, and to oonsist of six (6) inch base, one (1) inch binder and two (2) inch wearing surface), the portions of said 10 -1- street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter describe' to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop- erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assesses at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is sixteen hundred ninety-nine and 50/100 ($1699.50) dollars, or ten and 30/100 (410.80) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 165 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lot, block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the oontract entered into for the per- formance of said work and making said improvement, with J. '.Mell=n, dated the 7th day of May, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisi•ns of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The west side of Lot 2, Block 97, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same is shown upon the official plate of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to--w-it: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof i• four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there -2- t of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effeotiv-; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance beoomes effective; and pne-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, i. the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, ma, be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance eonfi ing the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same beoomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in whi•i. they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
