Ma ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on Pugsley Street, which extends south from fourth
North Street between Second West and Third West Streets, and
in Luray Avenue which extends west from-Second West Street
between Third North and Fourth North Streets, in Sewer District
No. S (Sewer Extension No. 383), for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter desoribed in Sewer

District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 383), for the construction
of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8, Block 120, Plat "A", Salt
Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Pugeley Street,
which extends south from Fourth North Street, between Second
West and Third West Streets, and in Ouray Avenue, which extends
west from Second West Street between Third North and Fourth
North Streets,.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the
portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by

said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established kx that said property will be especially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said
parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-
five (25) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to
be assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand five hundr d
thirty-eight and 87/100 ($1,538.87) dollars, or one and 521/1000
($1.821) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property,
there being 1011.75 feet of abutting property within the boundat es
of the lots, block and streets above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement, with Mullins & Palm, date
the 10th day of February, 1918, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorised and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi-
sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The north side of the west 105 feet of the south 305.25
feet of Lot 1, the north aide of the south 305.25 feet of Lot 2,
the east side of the north 24.75 feet of Lot 3, the east aide o,
Ithe south 270 feet of Lot 6, the west side of the south 210 fee
of the north 270 feet of the east la feet, and the south side
of the east 132 feet of Lot 7, the south side of the west 105
feet of Lot 8, Block 120, Plat "A", Salt Lake Gity Survey, as
the same are shown upon the official plata of said city to a
depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to
collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in fiv•
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpai•'
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after

the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment
for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof
in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth
thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective;
and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes
effdotivs. One or more of said installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming
the levy of the tax bedomes.e'ffective, without interest. In the
event of any installment or the interest aforesaid net being
paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are
due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at
the rats of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the
property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid,
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the
amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
