Green Stewart Mr. Chairman _® Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property in Lighting District No. 6, for the purpose of providing for the installation of arc lamps. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the 1 I property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 6, for the purpose of providing for the installation of arc lamps, towit: In Lots 4 and 5 of Blk. 74, Lots 1, 6, 7 & 8 of Blk. 75; Lots 2 to 5 inclusive of Blk. 71; Lots 1 & 8 of Blk. 70; Lots 4 and 5 of Blk. 56; Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 57; Lots 2 to 5 incl. of Blk. 53, and Lots 1 & 8 of Blk. 52, Plat A, Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of State Street, South Temple to 4th South Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thistax is levied to defray the expense of providing for the installation of arc lamps (said lamps to be one hundred sixty-eight (168) in number; fourteen (14) ornamental iron standards on each blook) each standard to carry three inverted type ornamental 6.6 ampere luminous arc lamps), said lamps to be iluminated by electric current; said standards to be approximately 110 feet apart and to be supplied with electric current for the illumination of the same each night from fifteen minutes before dark until midnight, four (4) lamps in each block, however, to be lighted all night (the cost of installation of the all night lamps being $3860.06 and same paid for by the city) the circuits for the installation of said system of lamps to be underground, and the portions of said streets opposite the pro- 10 J "�i perty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement and it is hereby ad- judged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Thirty-nine Thous- d Three Hundred Seventy-two and 62/100 ( 39,372.62) dollars or Seven and 683437/1000000 ($7.683437) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 5124.35 feet abutting said portion of said improvement and the cost of which installation and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total abutters' cost and cost per fron, foot of said improvement fArkzr-kjainckacatxtc&ktkrlieckplicais4 according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Utah Power & Light Company, dated the 6th day of January, 1921, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The east side of Lot 8, the east side of the north 85 feet and the east side of the south 179 feet of Lot 1, Block 52; The east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 57; the east side of Lot 1 and the east side of the north 177 feet and the east side of the south 113.35 feet of Lot 8, Blk. 70; the east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8 of Blk. 75; the west side of Lots 2 to 5 incl. of Blk. 53; the west side of Lots 4 and 5 of Blk. 56; the west side of Lots 2 to 5 incl. of Blk. 71; the west side of the south 280 feet, the west side of the north 25 feet of Lot 4, the west side of the north 294 feet and the west side of the south 11 feet of Lot 5, Blk. 74; Plat A, Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth back from said streets, and to collect said tax. -2- SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Lighting District No. 6 of Salt Lake City for the purpose of providing for the installation of arc lamps, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in three equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance. In the event any installment is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment is due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the pro- perty assessed.
