AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension Ye. 388) for the
purpose of constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COLHIISSIONERS of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District
No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 388) for the purpose of constructing a
sewer, to-wit:
Lots 1, 2, 16 and 18 of Block 5, Lots 1 to 19
incl. of Blocks 1 and 2 of Wagstaff Add.; Lots 1, 2, and 22
to 40 incl. of Block 1 of Broadway Add., Lots 1 and 8 to 31 incl.
of Block 1 and Lots 1 and 6 to 17 incl. of Block 2 of
Sherman Add., of Block 5; Lots 21 to 40 incl. of Block 1
and Lots 1 to 20 incl. of Block 2 of yunford Sub, of Block
11; all in 5 acre Plat A; Lots 9 and 10 of Block 41 ..1d Lots
1 and 13 to 33 incl. of Block 1, Hollywood Tract of Block 41,
all in 10 Acre Plat 1., Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides
of Richards St. from Harris Ave. to 17th South St., both sides of
Roberta St. from Garfield to Westminster Ave., and from Hollywood Ave.
to 21st South St., both sides of Garfield Ave. from Roberta St. to
3rd East St., both sides of Westminster Ave. from 2nd to 3rd East
Street and both sides of 21st South St. from State to 3rd East Streets.

This tax is levied to defray the abutter's portion of
the expense of constructing a vitrified and concrete pipe sewer
from eight (8) inches in diameter to thirty-six (36) inches in
diameter, including manholes, flush tans and "X" junctions,
all complete, upon the portions of said streets opposite the
property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement and it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
a uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to the
entire depth of said parcels of land back therefrom, and the
tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land
is Sixteen Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty-three and 92/100
016,763.92) dollars; or Two and 17/100 ( 2.17) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for half rate, there
being 7725.31 feet abutting said-improvement, which is the
i total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said sewers
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement with J. L. Griffith Co.
and W. H. Burnside, dated the Ed day of November, 1922, and the
treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the pur-
poses herein mentioned:
The west side of the north 119.57 feet of the east
455.4 feet of Lot 16, the north side of Lot 18, the south side
of the east 239.35 feet and the south side of the east 156.75
feet of the west 189.75 feet of Lot 1 and the south side of the
west 693 feet of the east 726 feet of Lot 2, Blk. 5; the south
side of Lots 1, 2 and 3, the west side of Lots 4 to 19 incl.,
and the west side of the north 65 feet of Lot 1, Blk. 1; the
east side of the north 65 feet of Lot 3, the east side of Lots
2

Sherman Add., of Blk. 5; the west side of Lots 21 to 40 incl.
of Blk. 1 and the east side of Lots 1 to 20 incl. of Blk. 2,
Danford Sub. of Blk. 11, all in 5-Acre Plat A; the north
side of Lots 1 and 13 to 33 incl. of Blk. 1, Hollywood Tract,
Blk. 41, the north side of the east 2 feet of Lot 9 and the
north side of Lot 10, Blk. 41, of 10-Acre Plat A, Big Field
Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of skid
city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to col-
lect said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the
City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the
Board. of Equalization and Review of the property described in
Section I of this ordinance in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer
Extension No. 388) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of
constructing a sewer upon said portions of said streets, is
hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said
completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization
and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five
equal yearly installments as proviled by law and ordinance with
interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent
per antrum, payable at the time each installment is due. In

the event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid
on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special
tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due,
, shall become due and payable, and shell draw interest at the
rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
r; after its publication.
