STT1ON 1529. The inspector of police, chief of
detectives end the captains shall, each before they enter
udon the duties of their respective offices, trace and sub-
scribe the constitutional oath of office, and crecutc a
bond, payable to the city, in the penal sum of tv.o thousand
dollars, conditioned as provided by la. Uaid bond to be

commissioners.
