AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ITEM #23 OF SECTION 1011 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to cooling of
milk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Item #23 of Section 1011 of the Revised Or-
dinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,.'1944,` relating to cooling of milk,
be and the same is hereby amended, which shall read as follows:
"ITEM 23. COOLING. if milk is to be delivered to a milk
plant or receiving station for pasteurization, separation or dis-
tribution within two (2) hours after the completion of milking, it
must be immediately cooled to 70° Fahrenheit or less and maintained
at that average temperature as defined in Section 1003 (p) until de-
livered to such milk plant or receiving station.
If milk is not to be delivered to a milk plant or receiving
station for pasteurization, separation or distribution within two
(2) hours after the completion of milking, it must be immediately
cooled to 55° Fahrenheit or less and maintained at that average
temperature as defined in Section 1003 (p) until delivered to such
milk plant or receiving station."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
