AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-1-7 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended by Bill No. 3 of 1968,
passed January 4, 1968, relating to residency of officers and
employees of the city within the city, by adding thereto a subdivision
(dd) relating to probationary employment.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-1-7 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended by Bill No. 3 of 1968,
passed January 4, 1968, relating to residency of officers and
employees of the city within the city, be, and the same hereby is,
amended by adding thereto a new subdivision (dd) relating to
probationary employment to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-1-7. * * *
"(dd) A person residing outside the city limits may
be employed by the city upon a probationary basis, but
such person shall become a resident of Salt Lake City
within 30 days after the expiration of the period of his
probation."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it
is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
