AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 130 (o) of the Traffic Code, also known
as Title 46 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating
to parking in public parks, playground or grounds of any public building on
roadways and parking lots subject to and in accordance with officially in-
stalled signs placed by the City Traffic Engineer.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 130 (o) of Title 46 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to parking in public parks, play-
ground or grounds of any public building on roadways and parking lots subject
to and in accordance with officially installed signs placed by the City Traffic
Engineer, be, and the same is, hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 130. Stopping or parking. Prohibition as to
specified area. (1) No person shall stop, stand or park
a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with
other traffic or in compliance with law or the directions
of a police officer or traffic control device, in any of
the following places:
(o) At any place in any public park, playground or
grounds of any public building other than on the roads
or parking lots provided for public parking and then only
in accordance with provisions of any officially installed
signs, said signs to be installed by the City Traffic En-
gineer pursuant to the authority granted in Section 67 of
this code."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary
to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this
ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
30th day of August , 1966.
