Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance revoking and annulling franchise of Salt Lake Terminal Company to lay tracks and operate cars on Pierpont Street between West Temple Street and First West Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 21st day of August, 1916, being thereto moved by complaints and petition stating that said Company had not yet laid tracks upon Pierpont :,treat, and that more then two years had elapsed since said franchise became effective, duly passed a resolution requiring Salt Lake Terminal Company (a corporation) to appear before said Board of Commissioners on the 29th day of August, 1916, at the hour of 10:30 A. M. , to show cause why the franchise to lay tracks and operate oars upon certain streets of said City, granted to said Company by ordinance dated December 31, 1913, should not be revoked and annulled in so far as the same gives said Company right to lay track or operate cars upon said Pierpont Street; and WHEREAS, Said Company wee duly and timely served with notice requiring it to appear and show cause why said franchise should not be revoked and annulled in the respects aforesaid; and WHEREAS, Said Company wholly failed to appear or to show cause, and said Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, then and there considered said matter and said franchise, and found and determined that the ordinance granting said franchise provides that -1- the tracks must be plaoed upon the streets named therein and said railroad completed within two years after said ordinance becomes effective, and that for failure of the grantee named therein, its successors or assigns, to comply with the conditions or provisions of said ordinance, said franchise should be null and void, and that said ordinance became effective January 1, 1914, and that tracks have not yet been laid upon said Pierpont Street: THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That that certain franchise granted by Salt Lake City, Utah, to Salt Lake Terminal Company (a corporation of the I State of Utah) , by an ordinance passed Deoember 31, 1913, be, and it hereby is, in so far as it gives said Company right to lay track: or operate a railroad upon Pierpont Street between West Temple and First West Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah, revoked end annulled. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
