Shear Wells an I V w V Wells �� _ - _. ` '-�" ChAA Mr.Chairman . . . - - AN ORDINANCE Result An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in the territory between Third South and Ninth South, and Ninth East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering thereof, and constructing drainage system therein. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering thereof, and constructing drainage system therein, to-wit: In Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, Rogers' Subdivision of Block 15; 1 and 4, Block 15; 6, Block 10; 1, and 5 to 9, inclusive, Robinson Subdivision of Block 10; 8, Block 11; 13, Block 1, Sylvan Park Sub- division of Block 11; 19, Sunset View Subdivision of Block 12; 5 and 6, Block 12; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 13; 1 to 11, inclusive, Douglas Place Subdivision of Block 14, all in Plat "F"; 1 and 2, Block 28; 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 15, all in Plat "B", and all in Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Douglas Street between Fifth South and Sixth South Street; and on both sides of Sixth South Street between Ninth East and Eleventh East Streets, and between Elizabeth and Thirteenth East Streets. C -1- This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing and guttering with oement, and constructing drainage system of cement, vitrified, corrugated and wrought iron pipe from six (6) inohee to twenty-four (24) inches in diameter, upon the portions of the streets opposite the property hereinbe£ore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve- ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets front- Yng upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twelve thousand four hundred ninety-three and 25/100 (012,493.25) dollars; fourteen hundred seventy-two (01472.00) dollars, or two and 30/100 ($2.30) faatx dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for thirty-six foot roadway, the being 640 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; and eleven thousand twenty-one and 25/100 (011,021.25) dollars, or tw. and 50/100 (02.50) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for fifty foot roadway, there being 4408.50 feet abutti' said portion of said improvement, all within the boundaries of th= lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, aocording to the contract entered into for the performance of eai. work and making said improvement, with H. G. Gilkerson, Contra'to•, dated the 20th day of May, 1914, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provi- sions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Thirty-six Foot Roadway. The west side of Lots 3, and 12 to 16, inclusive, the east side of Lots 4, and 7 to 11, inclusive, Rogers' Subdivision of -2- Block 15, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Survey. Fifty Foot Roadway. The north side of Lot 6, Block 10; the north side of Lots 1, and 5 to 9, inclusive, Robinson Subdivision of Block 10; the north side of Lot 8, Block 11; the north side of Lot 13, Block 1, Sylvan Park Subdivision of Block 11; the north side of Lot 19, Sunset View Subdivision of Block 12; the north side of the east 165 feet of Lot 6, the north side of Lot 5, Block 12; the south side of Lot 1, 2 and 4, the south side of the east 54 feet, and the south side of the west 101 feet of Lot 3, Block 13; the south side of Lots 1 to 11, inclusive, Douglas Place Subdivision of Block 14; the south side of Lots 1 end 4, Block 15; the south side of Lots 1 to 6, in- clusive, Rogers' Subdivision of Block 15, all in Plat "F"; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 28; the north side of the west 122 feet, and the north side of the east 33 feet of Lot 5, the north side of the east 123.75 feet, and the north side of the west 24.75 feet of Lot 8, the north side of Lots 6 and 7, Block 15, all in Plat "B", and all in Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the ftoffioial plats of said City to a depth of twenty- five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of sit per cent per annum, payable at the time eaoh installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such Improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty -3- days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effeotive, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said instellment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole , special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Curb & Gutter Extension No. 29. Ninth Partial Estimate.
