AN ORDINANCE LNYING 'TAX and for the assessment of
property on Eighth South between Fifthand Seventh Nest Streets,
in Paving District No.29 (Paving Extension No. 122) , for the
purpose of grading, constructing concrete curb, constructing
drainage system to carry water across and along streets and
intersections, and paving with Wicomalarczxx concrete.
BE IT ORDAIN11) BY THE BOARD OF COLLTIISSIONERS of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving
District No. 29, ( Paving Ilctension No. 14,2), for the purpose of
grading, constructing concrete curb, constructing drainage system
to carry water across and along streets and intersections, and
paving withm concrete, to-wit:
In Lots 5, 6, 7 & 8 of Block 1, Plat C, part of the
northwest quarter (NWh) of Sec. 12, 'Tg. 1 S. R. 1 W., S.L.B.&:.,
part of the northeast quarter (Ni )lt¢ of Sec. 11, Tp. 1 S. R. 1 W.
S.L.B. & Iv1., Lots 5 & 6 of Block 2, Lots 1, 2, 3 & 4 of Block 11,

abutting on both sides of Eighth South between Fifth and Seventh
West Streets "in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading,
constructing concrete curb, constructing drainage system to
'carry water across and along streets and intersections, and pav-
ing with 4X-VgaliMconcrete, (said pavement to be twenty (20)
feet wide and seven (7) inches thick), the portions of said
street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described
to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and.
it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said
property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount
of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
:,assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said street fronting upon and to a
depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Thirteen
'Thousand Five Hundred Ninety and 72/100 (413,590.72) dollars or
Four and 68/100 (44.68) dollars per front or linear foot of
,abutting property for said twenty foot strip, there being 2904

feet abutting said portion of said improvement, and the property
benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the
.boundaries of the lots, blocks, and sir eets above mentioned. in
: said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot
of said improvement, according to the c attract entered into for •
the performance of said work and making said improvement with
: Campbell Building Company, dated the 23d day of September, 1919,
and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the

SECTION TI. Said tax shall became and be delinquent
in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole
sun unpaid at the rate a f six per cent -oer annum, payable at the,
time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one
year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
,,payment for such improvement becomes effective- one-tenth there

if One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are

payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time, within}
thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
11 becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any in-
stallment or the interest aforesaid not oeing paid on the date
the same bec ome s due, the whole amount of the special tax un-

paid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall bo-
ll
come due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of
eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;;
!I provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they
ate payable, or the whole special tax unpaidf, nay be paid on
the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof
and interest to said date.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect one day!
after its first publication.
