An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property

onASecond South S.! eet between Elizabeth and Twelfth East Streets,
in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the
grading end paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax end provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District Po. 27,
for the purpose of providing for the grading and paving thereof,
to-wit:
In Lots 7 end 8, Block 27, Flat "F", Salt Lake City Survey,
abutting on the south side of Second. South Street between Elizabeth
end Twelfth East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, end paving
with bitulithic pavement six (6) inches thick, a roadway twenty-four
(24) feet wide (,•aid roadway being the south of two twenty-four (24)
foot roadways with forty-four (44) foot park between) , that portion
of said street op;nosite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve-
ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and esteblizhed that
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are

hereby assessed et <n equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street, fronting
upon end to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet beck therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied end to be assessed upon said parcels of lend
is fifteen hundred one end 20/100 ( `1501.20) dollars, or five and
56/100 (;.'5.56) dollars per front or linear foot of said roadway,
there being 270 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of
the lots, block and street above mentioned in said district, whic,
is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of said
work and making said improvement, with Strange-Maguire Paving
Company, dated the 9th dey of October, 1913, and the Treasurer is
hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The north side of the east 140 feet of Lot'8, the north side
of the west 10 feet of - + ,0 f + -S-Lot 8, the north side
of the east 120 feet of Lot 7, Block 27, Plat "F", Salt Lake City
Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plets of said city
to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet beck from said street, and to
collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable et the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth. thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof i
four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth ther=-
of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tent
thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effect7

ive; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance
becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said
! ordinance becomes effective. One or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be
paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming
the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the
event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid
on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special
tax unpaid a.t the time said installment and interest are due, shal
become due and payable, and shell draw interest at the rate of
eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due, by plying the amount thereof end
interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
