Mr.Chairman _ _._I Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property oommtarcing at Tenth South Street (now Thirteenth South Street)and Seventh West Streets; thence north on Seventh West Street to Seventh South Street; thence west on Seventh South Street to Ninth West Street; thence north on Ninth West Street to Second North Street; thence west on Second. North Street to Eleventh West Street; thence north on Eleventh West Street to Ninth North Street; also on Seventh North Street between Eighth West and Eleventh West Streets; and on Sixth South Street between Eighth West and Ninth West Streets, in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tr.Ir end provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers, to-wit: In Lots 1 to 17, inclusive, Block 18; 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 17; 1 to 29,, inclusive, Block 14; 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 13; 1 to 29, inclusive, block 7; 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 6, Oakley Subdivision, Sections 26 and 35, Township 1 north, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; 5 and 6, Block 100; 8, Block 101, Plat "C"; 1, Block 2; 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 1, Oakland Subdi- vision, Block 101; 27 to 52, inclusive, Block 2, Subdivision of -1- I I Block 102, all. in Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the west side of Eleventh West Street between Third North and Ninth North Streets, end on the south Bide of Seventh North Street betwee.i Eighth West end Eleventh West Streets. This tax is levied to defray a portion of the expense of con- structing main trunk sewer of re-inforced concrete (sectional area ' from five (5) square feet fo thirty-nine (39) square feet ) upon the lots or parcels of ground fronting or abutting upon the above mentioned streets for which said sewer will serve as a lateral, to lbe effected and benefited by said improveuent, end it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that seid property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and, to a depth of twent?_ five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of lend is twelve thousand five hundred fifty-six and 80/100 (y12,556.80) dollars, or two and 10/100 (y2.10� dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on side of streets, there being 5979.43 feet abutting said portion of said improvement within the boundaries of the lots, blocks end streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and coat per front foot of said sewers, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said im- provement with Gibbons Brothers, Reed and Roche, dated the 5th day of August, 1915, and the Trea arer is hereby authorized and direotell to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Sewer on Side of Streets (Full Rate) The east side of Lots 1 to 17, inclusive, Block 18; the east side of Lots 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 17; the east side of Lots 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 14; the east side of Lots 1 to 29, inclu- »2» sive, Block 13; the east side of lots 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 7; the east side of Lots 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 6, Oakley Subdivi- sion, Sections 26 and 35, Township 1 north, Range 1 west, Salt Lake� Base and Meridian; the north side of Lots 5 ana 6, Block 100; the north side of Lot 8, Block 101, "let "C"; the north side of Lot 1, Block 2; the north side of Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 1, Oak- land Subdivision, Block 101; the north side of Lots 27 to 52, in- clusive, Block 2, Subdivision of Block 102,all in Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street , and to collect said tax. I SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable et the time each instal - ment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinanc confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordi- nance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after sai ( ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax beoomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest afore- said not being paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid et the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes du.e, by paying the -3- ,' • amount thereof and interest to said date.
