AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 3, of Title 6, of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating
to interment and removal, by adding thereto a new section to
be known as Section 6-3-10, relating to burial above ground
prohibited.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 3, of Title 6, of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to inter-
ment and removal, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding
to said chapter a new section to be known as Section 6-3-10,
relating to burial above ground prohibited, to read as follows:
Sec. 6-3-10. Burial above ground prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to bury the
body of a deceased person in any structure above
the ground in the city cemetery.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabi-
tants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this 13th day of September, 1972.
