AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 of TITLE 24, of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to payments of debt,
by adding thereto a new section 24-7-2, relating to handling charge or
service fee.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 7 of Title 24 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to payments of debts to the
city, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto a new
section 24-7-2 to read as follows:
"Sec. 24-7-2. Service fee or handling charge. The
administrative head of each department is hereby authorized
to levy a handling charge or service fee, not to exceed
five dollars ($5.00) , when that department is required to
give an individual or company a refund or rebate. Such fee
is levied to cover all book work and administrative costs
involved in said refund or rebate."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
14th day of August, 1974.
