An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on both sides of D Street from a point 165 feet south of First
Street to Third Street,, and on both sides of Third Street between D
and E Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a
sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lr..1re City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lot 4, Block 11, Lots 1 and 4, Block 18, Lot 3, Block
and 4,
19, Lots 2 and 3,ABlock 38, Lots 1 and 4, Block 39, and 1 and 2,
Block 47, Plat "D", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides
of D Street from a point 165 feet south of First Street to Third
Street, and on both sides of Third Street between D and E Streets, .,
in Sewer District No. 1, said property having a frontage of 1872.5
feet along said streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
vitrified pipe sewer eight inches in diameter upon said portions of
said streets opposite the property hereinafter described to be es-
pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is here-
by adjudged, determined and established that the same will be es-
pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax heiteby levied and to be as-
sessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand three hundred and
ten and 75/100 ($1,310.75) dollars, or 70/100 (4"0.70) dollars per
front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and esti-
mated cost per linear foot of said sewer, and the Treasurer is here-
by authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned,

All of Lot 4, Block 11, the north half of Lot 1 and all of Lot
4, Block 18, all of Lot 3, Block 19, all of Lots 2 and 3, Block 38, 1
and all of Lots 1 and 4, Block 39, Pla.t_"D".

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become aai be dewing ent in six
equal installments as follows, to-wit: tine-sixth thOreof`,slail be-
come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
