An ordinance levying a. tax and for the esseent of property on both sides of Sennsylvania Avenue between Second South and. Thin. South Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt hake City, Utnh: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax an' provide for the asseesrnent of the same upon the property hereinaf- ter described, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer, to-wit: In Lot 6, dock 43, Plat "B", abutting on both sides of Penn- sylvania Avenue between Second South and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a vitrified pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore end hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improve- ment, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are heresy assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linea foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (E5) feet back therefrom, end the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is two hundred eighty-five and 74/100 ($285.74) dollars, or 8658788/10,000,000 (08.8658788) dollars per front or linear foot o' abutting property, there being 330 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lot, block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost end cost per front foot of said sewer, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improve;aent, with J. F. Johnson, dated the With day of August, 1911, and the Treasurer is hereby authorize and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: 1()4 -2- The north side of the south 70.5 feet of Lot 6, the north sid of the south 82.5 feet of Lot 6, Block 43, Plat "B", Salt Lake Cit Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25' feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each in stallment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ap proval of the ordinan©a confirming. the levy of the tax for the pay went for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in 'blab years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approve ; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in f.ve years after such approval. One or more of said in stallments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest afore- said not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said inst,ellment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw in- terest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
