Scheid Shearman Wells Mr.Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property on the north side of South Temple Street between West Temple and First West Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 13, for the construc- tion of a cement sidewalk. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Leke City does hereby levy the tax and. provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 13, for the construction of a cement sidewalk, to-wit: In Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 86, Flat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the north side of South Temple Street between. West Temple and First West Streets. Thie tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cement sidewalk nine (9) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with three and one-quarter (311-,) inch base end three-quarter O inch topping, upon the portions of said street opposite the property kexeimaftsr hereinbefore end hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal find uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon -1- said portions of said street, fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of lend is seven hundred forty- seven and 34/100 (0747.34) dollars, or one and 314/1030 ($1.314) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 568.75 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost end cost per front foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Mullins & Palm, Contractors, dated the 19th day of July, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: The south side of Lot 1, the south side of Lot 2, the south side of the east 19.7 feet, the south side of the west 14.6 feet of the east 42.5 feet, the south side of the vest 30 feet of the east 82.5 feet, and the south side of the west 41.25 feet of Lot 3, the south side of the east 69.5 feet, and the south side of the west 63.7 feet of the east 146.2 feet of Lot 4, Block 86, plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. This tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; end one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or -2- more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being raid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment end interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall drew interest at the rate of eight per Dent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more install- ments, in the order in which they ere payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Sidewalk Extension No. 183. First and Final Estimate.
