AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 of Title 25 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, 1955, relating to department officers and offices, by
adding thereto a new section relating to general government and by deleting
the law department from the officers and offices within the Department of
Public Affairs and Finance.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 7 of Title 25 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to department of officers and offices,
be, and the same hereby Is, amended by adding a new section thereto to be
known as Section 25-7-6, relating to general government to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-7-6. General Government. There is hereby created
and established under the supervision of the board of commis-
sioners as a whole, the following offices and the board of
commissioners may appoint competent officers thereto:
rr(a) Law Department
City Attorney
Six (6) Assistant City Attorneys
SECTION 2. That Section 25-7-2, relating to officers and offices
within the Department of Public Affairs and Finance is hereby amended to
delete therefrom paragraph (f) relating to the law department.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance take effect on December
31, 1961.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective on December 31,
1961 .
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
12th day of December, 1961 . 2
