ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
1 the property hereinafter described within the district bounded on the
north by the north line of First North Street, on the east by the
center line of East Temple Street, en the south by the south line of
South Temple Street, and on the west by the center line of Third West
Street, in Sewer Distriot No. 1, for the construction of sewers.

Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
) provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
Idescribed in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of sewers,

E In Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 97, and in Lots 4 and
6, Block 96, Plat "A", abutting on North Temple Street between Bacon
West and Third West Streets, on Second West Street between North

Temple and First North Streets, on First NorNortiliStreet between Second
West and Third West Streets, and on Third West Street between North
Temple and First North Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-

1 fied pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of
i said streets opposite the property hereinbefere and hereinafter des-
Bribed to be especially affected and benifited'ly said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established, that said p-

erty will be especially benefited thereby to the ill amount of
tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
[ an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontag
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twentysfive (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied_ and

six and 72/100 ($'6,606.72) dollars, or two and 646/10,000 (S2.0646) �

lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is
the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewer according to the
contract entered into for the performance of said work

and the Treasurer is hereby auth ze and directed to assess in ac-
t oordanoe with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein
mentioned:
Fronting on Third West Street.
All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and b, Block 97. Plat "A".
Fronting on North Temple Street.
The east 305 feet of Lot 2, and the west 306 feet of Lot 1, Block
97, Plat "A".
Fronting on Second West Street.
All of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 97, and all of Lots 4 and 5,
Block 96, Plat "A".
Fronting on First North Street.
The east 306 feet of Lot 5, and the west 305 feet of Lot 6, Block
97, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the
{ official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back
from said streets, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal
installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
mbar the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the t

One or more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the {
day any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and in-
terest to date of payment. Bach of said installments shall bear in-
terest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the
approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date
of delinquency, and eight (8) per Dent per annum frAlp delinq enoy

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect n approval.
