An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
the property hereinafter described within the district bounded on the
{
north by Fifth South Street, on the west by the Gravity Sewer, on the
1 south by Ninth South Street, and on the east by Ninth East Street, in
Sewer Districts Nos. 1 and 2, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer Districts Nos. 1 and 2, for the construction of

sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8, Block 20; in Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block
19; in Lots 1 and 2, Block 18; and in Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 17,
all in Plat "B", abutting on Seventh South Street between Fourth East
{ and Eighth East Streets, and on Fifth East Street between Sixth South
and Seventh South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitrie
fled pipe sewers eight (8) indhes in diameter upon the portions of
said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop-
erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is six thousand nine hundred)
ninety-five and 625/100 ($6,995.625) dollars, or two and 1525/10,000
($2.1525) dollars per front fast or linear foot of abutting property
on both sides of the streets above mentioned in Sewer District No. 1,
there being 3,250 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of
the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said distric4,w4ich

is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewer according to
the oontraot entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement, with

and the Treasurer is hereby au hor ed and directed to assess in ac-
cordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein
mentioned:
District No. 1.
Fronting on Seventh South Street between Fourth East and Eighth East
Streets:
All of Lots 1 and 2, Block 20, all of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block
19, all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 18, and all of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4,
Block 17, Plat "B".
Fronting on Fifth East Street between Sixth South and Seventh South
Streets;
The north 140 feet of Lot 1, the south 140 feet of Lot 6, and
all of Lots 7 and 8, Block 20, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as
the same are shown upon the official plate of said City to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said
tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal
installments, es follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth

thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the Ilk ordinance confirming the levy of the tax.
One or more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on
the day any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof/andl
interest to date of payment. Each of said installments shall .beatr 'r

interest at the rate of six (6) per Dent per annum from the date of
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until
the date of delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delin-
quency until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
