An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on ell streets within 'no district bounded on the north by Fourth North Street, on the east by West Capitol Street, on the south by First North Street, and on the west by First West Street, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of sewers. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax an• provide for the assessment of the same upon the property her.einaft:r described in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of sewers, to-wit: In Lots 1, 2 and 4, Block 8; 1, and 4 to 11, inclusive, Block 5; 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 7; 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 4; 1, 2 an. 3, Block 16; 1, 5, 6 and 7, Block 14; 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Block 13; 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8, Block 6; 1, 2 and 3, Block 8; 1, :, 3, '7 end :, Block 22, all in Plat "E", abutting on the west side of 14.eln Streo' between First North and Second North Streets; on both sides of Vin- Street between First North and Seoond North Streets; on both sides of Apricot Avenue between Center and Quince Streets; on both sides of Almond Street between First North Street and Apricot Avenue; on both sides of Center Street between First North and Second North Streets; and on the west side of Quince Street between Third North and Fourth North Streets/ This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitr' fled pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinpefore and hereinafter de cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, acid it is hereby adjudged, determined end eeteblieeed that#sa.id property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said pe.rcel.s of land are hereby a;sesse. at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting neon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied. and to be assessed upon said parcels of land 108 -2- is six thousand eighty-one and 55/100 04,081.55) dollars; one thousand forty-seven and 95/100 ($1,047.95) dollars, or one and 6755641/10,000,000 ($1.6755641) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on sid of streets, there being 1v 625. . feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots block and street above mentioned; and five thousand thirty-three and 60/100 ( 5,033.60) dollars, or 8377821/10,000,000 G0.8377821) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets, -there being 6008.25 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men- tioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per from foot of said sewers, according to the contract entered into for th•- performance of said work and making said improvement, with James Kennedy Construction Company, dated the 13th day of June, 1911, an' the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in aecor;- ance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Sewer on Side of Streets: Fronting on North Main Street: All of Lots 1, 2, and 4, Block 8, Plat "T", Salt Lake City Survey. Sewer in Center of Streets. Fronting on Vine Street: The south 42.5 fee*f Lot 11, id¢a all of Lots 9 and 10, the north 83.25 feet of Lot 7, Block 5; the south 152.5 feet of Lot 7, all of Lots 2 to 6, inclusive, Block 7; all of Lots 3 and 4, Block 4, Plat "E". Fronting on Apricot Avenue: The east 92 feet of Lot 3, all of Lot 2, the west 170.4 feet of Lot 1, Block 16; the east 226 feet of the west 281 feet of Lot 7, Block 14; the east 60.14 feet of Lot 6, the west 106.84 feet of Lot 7, Block It 13, Plat"$". -3- Fronting on Almond Street: All of Lots 5, 6 and 7, the north 100.77 feet of Lot 1, Klock 14; all of Lots 4, 5 end 6, the north 100.75 feet of Lot 3, Block 13; the south 80.6 feet of Lot 8, all of Lots 3, 4 and 7, the port, 135.25 feet of Lot 6, the north 93.5 feet of Lot 1, Block 6; the south 56.25 feet of Lot 11, all of Lots 10, and 5 to 8, inclusive, the north 109.5 feet of Lot 4, Block 5, Plat "E". Fronting on Center Street: The south 80.5 feet of Lot 8; all of Lots 1, and 9 to 12, in- clusive, Block 7; ell of Lots 1, 5 and 6, Block 4; the north 105.3 feet of Lot 1, Block 5; all of Lots 2 and 3, the north 85 feet of Lot 1, Block 8, Plot "E". Fronting on Q,uince Street: All of Lots 7 and 8, the north 140 feet of Lot 1, all of Lot 2, the south 273.5 feet of Lot 3, Block 22, all in Plat "E", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon. the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each in stallment zxd is due, teewit: One-fifth thereof one year after th- approvel of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approve ; oneo£ifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more or said in stallments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest afore- said not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and • -4- interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw in- terest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid on tie day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
