Lawrence . • • . • • Morris k. 7-14A Mr.Chairman Result I An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in the district bounded on the north by Eleventh South Street, on j the east by Fifteenth East Street, on the south by Twelfth South Street, and on the west by Third East Street; also on the east side of Fifth East Street between Bryan Avenue and Eleventh South Street, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 29 and 44, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the sam= upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 29 and 44, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lot 14, Block 4, Five Acre Flat "A", Big Field Survey, abutting on the west side of Fifth East Street between Eleventh South and Twelfth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks (said cement sidewalks to be five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon all four (4) rod streets, and four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick on all narrower streets, where sidewalks are unpaved or pavement worn out, in said district:, and on Fifth East Street between Bryan Avenue and Eleventh South I Street) , upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected , and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portio of srid street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed -1- 1.08 upon said parcels of land is sixteen and 44/100 (t16.44) dollars, or 715/1000 ($0.715) dollars oer front or linear foot of abutting of property for sidewalknfive feet wide, there being 23 feet abutting property within the boundeties of the lot, block and street above mentioned in said districts, which is the total cost and cost per Ifront foot of said sidewalks, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with P. J. Moran, dated the 29th day of May, 1913, end the Treasu r 1 is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentione : Five Foot Walk. The eest side of the south 5.8 feet of the north 86.17 feet of Lot 14, the east side of the south 17.2 feet of the north 285.3 feet of Lot 14, all in Block 4, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Sur- vey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, end to collect said tax. 1 SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five 1 equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such 1 improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said. ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four i years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty 1 days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes 1 effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or 1 1 the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole ambunt of the special tax unpaid at the time said -2 installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, an shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more install- ments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effeot one day after its first publication. Sidewalk Extension No. 159.
