Sections 697 and 698 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Like City, Utah: SECTIOd 1. Thet Section 697 of the flevisod Ordinances of Solt Lake City of 1903, be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: 697. STREET E<1C.?UdTIOTTS. It shall be unlawful for any per eon, firm, corporation or association to ;eahe any excavation in any street, lane or alloy, or remove any mvemant or other mater- ial forming any street or inprovenent thereon, without a permit from the Supervisor of Streets. SECTION 2. That Section 693 oI the Eevi;ed Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903, be, and the same is hereby a:cooded and re-enacted so an to read as follows: 693. PERL:I0 . A2PLICATIOSi3. BONDS. No permit for any street excavation shall be issued until written application ther0a for has been made to the Supervisor of Streets, sinned by the ', party making the excavation, or by the pasty at :most instance i is to be made; nor until the applicant has filed with the Super vt:,or• 3t7:lets a bond of indemnity to the city, with sureties /ri to be approved by the feipary;tnr, conditioned that the person making the excavation will erect and maintain about said excava- tion, and until the street is restored to its normal condition, sufficient guards, signals, barricades and lio..hts, to prevent accident, and will, as soon as may be ahter the completion of said .;ork, restore, bai,-_ street to the condition in which it existed prior to sail excavation, srJ vrill save the city harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, donr^-dc or damages, for an and all injuries to rc_ _;ion or _��so rty arising; in any manner oat of or by reason of any such e;cc. vetion.
