AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 6-1-2 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to the duties of the Sexton at the
City Cemetery, amending Section 24-1-2 relating to the classifications
of subordinate departments, amending Section 25-7-1 relating to the
offices and officers in the Department of Parks and Public Property,
amending Section 25-7-2 relating to offices and officers within the
Department of Public Affairs and Finance and amending Section 25-8-1
relating to salaries.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6-1-2 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to the duties of the City Sexton at
the City Cemetery, be,and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 6-1-2. Duties. It shall be the duty of the sexton
to take charge of the city cemetery, and improve the grounds
thereof, under the direction of the commissioner of parks
and public property, to dig, or cause to be dug, all graves
required for the burial of the dead therein, and keep a
record of the same."
SECTION 2. That Section 24-1-2 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to the classifications of subordinate
departments, be, and the same hereby is, amended by deleting from Item 2
the"City Cemetery and the"Law Department', by adding to Item 5 "City
Cemetery" and by adding thereto.an Item 6 to read as follows:
"ITEM 6. GENERAL GI VER1ITMENT.
Law Department."
SECTION 3. ThaSectin.25-7-1 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 195q'relfiting to the offices and officers of the
Department of Parks and Public Property, be, and the same hereby is,
amended by adding thereto a subsection (c) to read as follows:
"(c) City Sexton."

SECTION 4. That Section 25-7-2 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to the offices and officers within
the Department of Public Affairs and Finance, be, and the same hereby is,
amended by deleting therefrom subsection (d).
SECTION 5. That Section 25-8-1 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to salaries, be, and the same
hereby is, amended by adding to Item 1 subsection (c) reading as follows:
"(c) City Sexton $4,800.00."
and by deleting subsections (e) and (g) from Item 2 and by adding thereto
a new item to be known as Item 5 to read as follows:
"ITEM 5. General Government.
(a) Law Department.
1. City Attorney $10,000.00
2. Four Assistant City
Attorneys, each 7,800.00
3. One Assistant City
Attorney 7,200.00
4. One Assistant City
Attorney 7.020.00."
SECTION 6. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utah, that this ordinance become effective January 1, 1962.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1962.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
