AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 7-2-1 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to Parole of City Prisoners.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 7-2-1 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to parole of city prisoners be,
and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Section 7-2-1. Parole of city prisoners. The
city court shall retain jurisdiction over persons
committed by it to jail or other confinement for the
purpose of paroling such persons, for such reasons as
it shall deem sufficient, upon such terms and conditions
as it shall specify. In such cases, the period of
parole shall not exceed one year."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 8th day of October , 1970.
