AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Salary Schedule IV-R as contained in Section
25-4-3 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965,
pertaining to salaries of employees in the Police Department.
Re it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Salary Schedule IV-B, as contained in Section 25-
4-3 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to
salaries of employees in the Police Department, he, and the same hereby
is amended as follows:

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication, and shall he retroactive in effect to July 1, 1979;
provided further that each person employed by the City within one of the
foregoing pay classifications on the effective date of this ordinance,
shall receive, in addition to the foregoing monthly salary, a lump sum

payment equal to 3.1 percent of his/her monthly base salary existing
immediately prior to the effective date of this ordinance multiplied by
the number of full months such employee was employed by the City within
one of the foregoing nay classifications, from December 1, 197R, to Tune
30, 1979.
SECTION 3. The foregoing monthly salaries shall be increased by
seven (7%) percent for nay periods commencing December 1, 1979.
SECTION 4. In the opinion of the Roard of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
Passed by the Roard of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 20th day of. July , 1979.
