AN ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on Fifteenth East Street between Thirteenth South
Street and Harrison Avenue; on Westmoreland Drive between
Thirteenth South Street and Sherman Avenue; on Filmore
Street between Sherman and Harrison Avenues; on Glenmare
Street between Sherman and Harrison Avenues; on Sherman
Avenue between Glenmare and Filmore Streets; and on Harrison
Avenue between Fifteenth East and Sixteenth East Streets, in
Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 378), for the
construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer
District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 378), for the construction
of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 8, inolusive, and 10 to 16, inclusive, Block
1; 1 to 17, inclusive, Block 2; 1 to 14, inolusive, heck 3;
and 1 to 14, inclusive, Block 4, Westmoreland Place Subdivision,
Blook 12; 58, Block 1; and 1 and 57, Block 2, Liberty Heights
Subdivision, Block 11, all in Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field
Survey, abutting on both sides of Fifteenth East Street between

Thirteenth South Street and Harrison Avenue; on Westmoreland
Drive between Thirteenth South Street and Sherman Avenue; on
Filmore Street between Sherman and Harrison Avenues; on Glenmar�
Street between Sherman and Harrison Avenues; on Sherman Avenue
between 0II*mare and Filmere Streets; and on Harrison Avenue
between Fifteenth Best and Sixteenth Bast Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the
portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefor• and
hereinafter desoribed to be especially affected and benefited
by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be espeoially benefited
thereby to the fall amount of the tax hereby levied, and said
parosis of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in a000rdanoe with the"linear foot frontage upon said
portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty
five (26) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to
be assessed upon said paresis of land is seven thousand seven
hundred seventy-four and 36/100 ($7,774.36) dollars, or one and
912/1000 ($1.912) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property, there being 4066.09 feet of abutting property within
the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned
in said district, which is the total post and cost per front
foot of said sewers, a000rding to the ocettraot entered into for
the performanoe of said work and making said improvement, with
H. G. Gilkerson, dated the 21st day of August, 1918, and the
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the pur-
pose herein mentioned;
The south side of the east 60.1 feet of Lot 1, the west
side of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, the south side of Lots 10 to 15
inclusive, fronting on the east side of Westmoreland Drive, all

of Lot 16, Block 1; the south side of the west 70 feet of Lot 1,�
the south side of the east 72 feet of Lot 2, the west side of
Lots 2 to 10, inolusive, the east aide of Lots 1, and 12 to 17,
inclusive, fronting on the west side of Westmoreland Drive, all
of Lot 11, Bleak 2; the south aide of the west 60 feet of Lot 1,
the south aide of the east 65 feet of Lot 2, the west side of
Lots 2 to 8, inclusive, the north side of the east 65 feet of
Lot 8, the north side of the west 60 feet of Lot 9, the east sidle
of Let¢ 1, and 9 to 14, inolusive, Block 3; the north side of
Lots 1 to 13, inclusive, the north side of the east 39 feet of
Lot 14, Block 4, all in Westmoreland Place Subdivision, Block
12; the east side of the north 61 feet of Lot 58, Block 1; the
east side of the south 45 feet of Lot 1, the east side of the
north 46 feet of Lot 57, Block 2, Liberty Heights Subdivision,
Block 11, all in Fine Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey, as the
same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth
of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect
said tax.
SEOTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in fly
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpai
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time eaoh
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment
for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof
in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth
thereof in four years after said ordinance keocmes effective;
and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance become
effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
At any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming
the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the

event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being
paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest ars
due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at
the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the
property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are Sayable, or the whole special tax unpal ,
may be paid on the,.day any installment becomes due, by paying e
amount thereof an interest to said date.
