An ordinance levying a tax upon the property abutting on both sides of Sixth East Street from the south sine of South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, in Paving District ]o. 26, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That said Council does hereby levy a tax and pro- vide for the assessment upon the real property hereinafter described abutting on both sides of Sixth East Street from the south side of South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, in Paving District No. 26, in Salt Lake City, UtPh. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering and curbing with cement, and paving with macadam two roadways (said macadam pavement on each of said roadways to be twenty-four (24) feet wide and nine (9) inches thick), with a twenty-four (24) foot park between, on Sixth East Street from the south side of South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of saidlstreet will thereby benefit the property abutting thereon, and hereinafter described, to the full amount of the estimated cost thereof. Said property is to be assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street. The cost and expense of making said improvement is estimated at four and 25/100 ($4.25) dollars per linear front foot, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said property is four and 25/100 ($4.25) dollars per linear front foot abutting on said portion of said street, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and di- rected to assess said property, and to collect said tax in accord- ance with the provisicns of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned. -2- The property hereby assessed consists of the following des- cribed lots and pieces of ground, to-wit: All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 61; all of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 52; all of Lots 1 and 8, Block 47; all of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 60; all of Lots 4 and 5, Block 53; all of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 46, Plat "B", S,.lt Lake City Survey, as the same appear and are shown upon the official plats of said City. The total amount of said tax to be so levied and collected at the rate of four and 25/100 ( 4.25) dollars per linear front foot, is sixteen thousand eight hundred and thirty ($16,830.00) dollars, there being 3,960 feet abutting said improvement. SECTION 2. That said tax levied as aforesaid upon said proper- ty shall become delinquent as follows: One-tenth of the total amount of said tax so levied shall be- come delinquent September 15, 1906; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1907; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1908; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1909; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1910; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1911; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1912; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1913; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 1b, 1914; One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent September 15, 1915. Each of said installments except the first, shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from the time of this levy until delinquent, and if any or either of said installments shall become delinquent, interest thereon shall be at the rate of eight per cent per annum from delinquency until such delinquent install- ments are fully paid. SECTION 3. That the entire amount of tax so levied and as- sessed up said property may be paid by the owner of said property, -3- or the entire equal proportion of said tax upon any piece of prop- , erty may be paid by any person on any part tnereof within fifty (50) days from said levy, and thereafter such pieceslor portions of property.. affected by this tax shall be exempt from any lien or charge therefor. :SECTION 4.
