Scheid Shearman_-- _ ---- t Wells " Mr.Chairman `I— Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Eleventh Ea't Street from Yale Avenue to a point 287 feet north of Twenty-first South Street (formerly Twelfth South Street) , in Paving District No. 31, for the purpose of providing for the grating, curbing and guttering, constructing waterways across street inter- sections, and laying pipes for irrigation purposes back of curb, constructing private driveways, installing water services, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31, for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing end guttering, constructing waterways across street intersections, laying pipes for irrigation purposes back of curb, constructing private driveways, installing water services, and paving thereof, to8wit: In Lots 47 to 56, inclusive, Block 4; 21 to 30, inclusive, Block 3, Lincoln Perk Subdivision, Block 16-A; 17, Block 9, Perkins' inclusive, First Addition to Grand View; 7, all in Block 1-A; 97 to 10¢.,,/ Inglewood Subdivision; 43, Block 2, Larson's Subdivision; 1, 17, 18 and 20, all in Block 17; 1, and 24 to 44, inclusive, Block 2, La Vete Place Subdivision; 1, and 12 to 20, inclusive, Block 1, -1- L. H. Rockwell's First Addition; 1 to 4,- inclusive, Block 2; 1 to 4, inclusive, Block 1, Thomas Subdivision; 1 to 4, inclusive, Block II 1; 1 to 4, inclusive, Block 2, Hillview Subdivision; 29 to 38, in elusive, Greystone Subdivision; 15, 16, 18 and 20, all in Block 16;! 11, and 48 to 57, inclusive, Block 3; 1, and 49 to 55, inclusive, Block 2; 1 to 5, inclusive, Block 1, West Grand View Subdivision; 13 to 20, inclusive, all in Block 1, and all in Five Acre Plat "A",' Big Field Survey, abutting on the east side of Eleventh East Street and Garfield and 'Westminster Avenues; between Harrison and Roosevelt Avenuesd/and on the west side of Eleventh East Street between Yale Avenue and Twenty-first South Street (formerly Twelfth South Street). This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing jand guttering with Dement, constructing waterways across street intersections, and laying pipes for irrigation purposes back of curb (said waterways and pipes to consist of vitrified, concrete and wrought iron pipe) , constructing private driveways, installing ;! water services, end paving with sheet asphalt (said sheet asphalt I pavement to be forty-four (44) feet between curbs and edght (8) inches thick, with five (5) inch concrete base, one and one-half (1i) inch binder and one and one-half f= Ili) inch topping of sheet', asphalt) , the portions of said street opposite the property herein- before and hereinafter described to be especially affeoted and „ benefited by said improvement, end it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accor- dance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirty-seven thousand nine hundred seventyrseven and 30/100 (t37,977.30) dollars; thirty-seven thousand thirty-nine ' and 30/100 (u37,039.30) dollars, or five and 27/100 ( 5.27) dollar ICI said per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty-four foot roadway, there being 7028.33 feet abutting said portion of said kmprovement; three hundred fifty (8350.00) dollars for private driveways, or fourteen (814.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being twenty-five private driveways; and five hundred eighty eight ($588.00) dollars for water services, or ten and 50/100 ($10.50) dollars for each water service, there being fifty-six kater services, the cost of the construction of which and the property benefited thereby is nereinefter set out, all within the jl boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the perfor-, lmance of said work and making said improvement, with P. J. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid l at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ii ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years afteri said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in ',' five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there- of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth 1 thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-; I i tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes • effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinancel becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order! in -which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid !, et the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due -6- f 1 jl and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the ',whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date SECTION 3.
