AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax upon the property abutting on both
Bides of Twelfth East Street from the south side of Second South
Street to the north side of Third South Street, in Paving District
No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and
curbing, and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That said Council does hereby levy a tax and pro-
vide for the assessment upon the real property hereinafter described
abutting on both sides of Twelfth East Street from the south side of
Second South Street to the north side of Third South Street, in
Paving District No. 27, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing with cement, and paving with macadam (said macadam pave-
ment to be forty (40) feet wide between curbs, and nine (9) inches
thick), Twelfth East Street from the south side of Second South
Street to the north side of Third South Street, in said paving Dis-
trict No. 27, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
that the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of said street
will thereby benefit the property abutting thereon, and hereinafter
described, to the full amount of the estimated cost thereof.
Said property is to be assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said
street.
The cost and expense of making said improvement 'is estimated at
four ($4.00) dollars per linear front foot, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said property is four (04.00) dollars
per linear front foot abutting on said portion of said street, and
the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess said
property, and to collect said tax in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned.

The property hereby assessed consists of the following described
lots and pieces of ground, to-wit:
All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 27, and all of Lots 2 to 14, in-
clusive, Block 2, Subdivision of Block 26, Plat "F", Salt Lake City
Survey, as the same appear and are shown upon the official plats of
said City.
The total amount of said tax to be so levied and collected at
the rate of four (; 4.00) dollars per linear front foot, is five
thousand two hundred and eighty (. 5,280.00) dollars, there being •
1,320 feet abutting said improvement.
SECTION 2. That said tax levied as aforesaid upon said prop-
erty shall become delinquent as follows:
One-tenth of the total amount of said tax so levied shall be-
come delinquent October 1, 1906;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1907;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1908;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1909;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1910;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1911;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1912;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1913;
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1914;and
One-tenth thereof shall become delinquent October 1, 1915.
Each of said installments except the first, shall draw interest
at the rate of six per cent per annum from the time of this levy
until delinquent, and if any or either of said installments shall
become delinquent, interest thereon shall be at the rate of eight
per cent per annum from delinquency until such delinquent install-
ments are fully paid.
SECTION 3. That the entire amount of tax so levied and as
sensed on said property may be paid by the owner of said property,

or the entire equal proportion of said tax upon any piece of prop-
erty may be paid by any person on any part thereof within fifty
(50) days from said levy, and thereafter such pieces or portions of
property affected by this tax shall be exempt from any lien or
charge therefor.
eNCTiON 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
