Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Sec. 35-2-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to speed limits established for locomotives, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 35-2-2. Id. Speed limits established. It shall be unlawful for any person to run any locomotive, engine, train or cars operated on rails at a speed greater than twenty-five miles per hour in Salt Lake City, south of 600 North Street, except in the following areas: "(1) Between North Temple Street and 300 South Street from 400 West Street to 1100 West Street, in which it shall be unlawful for any person to run any locomotive, engine, train or cars operated on rails at a speed greater than thirty-five miles per hour. "(2) Between North Temple Street and 700 South Street from 1100 West Street to the western limits of Salt Lake City, in which it shall be unlawful for any person to run any loco- motive, engine, train or cars operated on rails at a speed greater than fifty miles per hour." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first pub- lication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 12th day of October, 1972.
