114 of 1908 - Ordinance 114 of 1908 – Paving Extension No. 34, Second Partial Estimate. AN ORDINANCE . An ordinance levying a tax end providing for the assessment of the property hereinafter described on First South Street between Second East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter 'described in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of a portion of said district, to-wit: In Lots 1 and 2, Block 73, 2la.t "A"; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 63, and 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 53, Plat "B", abutting on the north side of First South Street between Second East and Fourth East Streets, I � and on the south side of First South Street between Sixth East and Seventh East Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering end curbing with cement, and paving with Utah asphalt (said asphalt pavement to be eighty (Sc) feet wide between curbs, and nine (9) inches thick, between Second East and Fourth East Streets, and sixty (60) feet wide between curbs, and nine (9) inches thick between Fourth East and Thirteenth East Streets), the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is ,hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land aae hereby assessed at en equal and; uniform rate in accordance with the lineal• foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eighteen thousand five hundred ninet7) :11.4 fib -2- two and 79/100 ( 18,592.79) dollars; thirteen thousand five hundred fifty-one and 8/100 (013,551.08) dollars, or ten and 265,966/1,000,000 ( j10.B65,956) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway`•80 feet wide, there being 1320 feet , of abutting property within the boundaries of the Tote, blocks and street .above mentioned in said district; and five thousand forty- one and 71/100 (05,041.71) dollars, or seven and 638952/1,000,000 (07.638,952) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway 6C feet wide, there being 66e feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost eer front foot of said improvement accoreiug to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with P. J. Moran, dated the 24th day of April, 1908, end. the Treasurer is here- by authorized and directed to assess in accordonce with tee provis- ions of this ordinance for the pureo e herein mentioned: Eighty Foot Eoadway. City to a depth of twenty-five (251 feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION, 2.
