Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance requiring payment of license by sellers of
novelties.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. No person shall sell on the streets of Salt Lake
City on circus or fete days, or on holidays, balloons, whips, flags,
soft drinks, or novelties of any kind, without first procuring and pay-
ing a license to said city for such privilege in the sum of Two Dollars
per day; provided, however, that such license shall not be required of
agents or representatives of a circus which pays a license to Salt Lake
City for exhibiting in said city„when such sales are made by them on the
grounds occupied by such circus or on the public streets during the
parade only.
SECTION 2. Such sales shall not be made from stands on the
streets except on circus or fete days, and then only from stands not ex-
ceeding six feet in length erected in the space between the sidewalk and
the curb of the street.
SECTION 3. Any person violating any of the provisions bf this
ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding the sum of Twenty-
five Dollars, or by imprisonment in the city jail for a period not ex-
ceeding twenty-five days.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication. —--
