AN ORDINANCE Result i r AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX AND for the assessment of proper- ty in Lighting District No. 16-C, for the purpose of providing for the and one illuminated street sign operation, maintenance and patrolling of incandescent lamps/and the furnishing of electrical energy therefor. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same up- on the property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 16-C, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrol- and one illuminated street sign ling of incandescent lamps/and the furnishing of electrical energy therefor, to-wit: Lots 1 to 22 inclusive, Block 1; Lots 1 to 5 inclusive and 9 and 10, Block 2; Lots 1 to 10 inclusive and 18 and 19, Block 3; Lots 1 to 13 inclusive, Block 4; and Lots 1 and 4 to 31 inclu- sive, Block 5; Upper Yale Park, a subdivision of part of Block 29, 5 Acre Plat C, Big Field Survey. Lots 1 to 39 inclusive, •••' Block 13; Lots 18 to 24 inclusive, Block 14; Lots 27 to 32 inclu • sive, Block 19; and all of Block 22; Douglas Park, a subdivision 641. of part of Blocks 28 mad 29, 5 Acre Plat C, Big Field Survey,and opart of Section 9, T. 1 S., R. 1 E , S.L.B. & M.; and parts of Blocks 28 and 29„ 5 Acre Plat C, Big Field Survey; abutting on aid adjacent to both sides of Yale Avenue from 15th to 17th East Streets, Yalecrest Avenue from Yale Avenue to 17th East Street, and Military Drive from Yale Avenue to 9th South Street, in Salt Lake City. This tax is levied to defray the dxpense of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of incandescent lamps and one illuminated street sign (said lamps to be fifty-six (56) in num- ber, each standard equipped with one 4000 lumen incandescent lamp) said lamps and street sign to be illuminated by electric current, and the furnishing of electrical energy for the same on the all-night schedule for a period of ten years from October 25, 1950, to October 25, 1960, and the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby ttidged, determined and established 42* that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the ful amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the number of square feet and to a maximum depth of sixty (60) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is -A.even Thousand, Eight Hundred Ninety and 67/100 ($11,890.67). SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved aad completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section 1 of this ordinance in Lighting District No. 16-C of Salt Lake City for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenaace and patrol one ling of incandescent lamps and/illuminated street sign and furnish ing with electrical energy, is hereby confirmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten ogia_t year y installments, with interest on any delinquent installment unpaid al the rate of ten per cent per annum, which interest shall be charge. from and after the due date of each installment, to-wit: One-tenth thereof fifteen days after the ordinance levying the tax for the payment of the improvement becomes effective; 6ne-tenth thereof in One year thereafter; one-tenth thereof in two years thereafter; on:- tenth thereof in three years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in four years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in five years thereafter; one- tenth thereof in six years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in seven years thereafter; one-tenth thereof in eight years thereafter; one tenth thereof in nine years thereafter; provided, however, that one or more of such installments in the order payable, or the whole tax, may be paid without interest within fifteen (15) days from the date this ordinance becomes effective. Default in the payment of any such installment of princi pal when due shall cause the whole of the unpaid principal to be- come due and payable immediately, and the whole amount of the un- paid principal shall thereafter draw interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum until paid, but at any time prior to the date o sale or foreclosure the owner may pay the amount of all unpaid in- stallments past due, with interest at the rate of ten per cent per annum to date of payment on the delinquent installments, and all accrued costs, and shall thereupon be restored to the right there- after to par in installments in the same manner as if default had not occurred.
