AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property;
en all streets within the district bounded on the north by Fourth
North Street, on the east by West Capitol Street, on the south by
First North Street, and on the west by First West Street, in Sewer
District No. 1, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
'described in Sewer District Jo. 1, for the construction of sewers, !
to-wit:
In Lots 4, 5 and 6, Block 16; 1 and 2, Block 21; 1, 2, 6, 7
and 8, Block 20; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 17; 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and
8, Block 12; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11; 1, 2, 3 and 4,
Block 18, 3 and 4, Block 8, Plat "E"; 1 to 9, inclusive, Block 2,
Plat "d"; 7, 8, 9 and 10, Capitol Subdivision, Block 10; 10, Kook ;
1; part of the southwest quarter of Section 31, Township 1 north,
Range 1 east; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block le, Plat "B"; 1 to 12, inclusive,
Block 5; 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 6; 6, Block 7, Plat "J"; 1, Block ;
30, Plat "E", abutting on both sides of Third North Street between ;
North Main and Quince Streets; on both sides of Apricot Avenue be- !
tween Wert er Streets; on both sides of Second North Street
between and Center Streets; on both sides of North Main '
Street between Seoond North and Fourth North Streets; on both sided
of Wall Street between Second North Street and Apricot Avenue; on !
the west side of West Capitol Street between Third North Street and
Zane Avenue; on the east side of West Capitol Street between Fourth
North Street and Zane Avenue; and on both sides of Zane Avenue be- ',
tween West Capitol and Wall Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
:fled pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of
said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter ,
described to be espeoially affected and benefited by said improve-

meat, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that
, said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
;amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here4
by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting
upon and to a depth of twentyfive (25) feet back therefrom, and
' the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land'
is seven thousand four hundred-twenty four and 84/100 (07,424.54)
dollars, or 8377821/10,000,000 ($0.8377821) dollars per front or
linear foot of abutting property for sewer i center of streets, 1
there being 8862.13 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost and post per front foot of said sewers,
!aeoording to the contract entered into for the performance of said ',
work and making said improvement, with James Kennedy Construction
Company, dated the 13th day of June, 1911, and the Treasurer is
(hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the
!provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at
the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each install-
ment is due, to-wit: Ones-fifth thereof one *ear after the approval]
Iof the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment foxy

for suoh improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such
fapproval; one.fifth thereof in three years after such approval; ones
(fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth there-
of in five years after such approval. One or more of said install-1
}manta, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special
(tax may be paid at any time within thirth days after the approval
