Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property in the district bounded on the north by Ninth South Street, on the south by Tenth South Street, on the west by Ninth West Street, and on the east by Seventh West Street, in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No. 2, for the construction of sewers, to wit: In Lots 1 to 13, inclusive, Block 3; 1 to 14, inclusive, Block 6; 13 and 14, Block 5, Muscatine Place Subdivision, Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 1; 1 to 27, inclusive, 29, 30, Block 2; 30 and 29, Block 3, Albert Place Subdivision; 14 to 26, inclusive, Block 2; 14 to 26, inclusive, Block 7, Muscatine Place Subdivision; 17 to 45, inclusive, J. Bolton & Co's Subdivision of Cobb's Addition; 3 to 6, inclusive; all in Block 8, 5-Acre Plat "B", Big Field Survey, and in Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, abutting on both sides of Eighth West Street between Ninth South Street and Tenth South Street, on both sides of Fremont Avenue between Eighth West Street and Ninth West Street, on both sides of Fayette Avenue and both sides of Lucy Avenue between Seventh West Street and Eighth West Street. 4 . This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing sewer laterals of vitrified pipe eight (8), ten (10) and twelve (12) inches hereinbefore and in diameter upon the portions of said streets opposite the property / hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upfonVesaid portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty/(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is nine thousand nine hundred one and 13/100 ($9,901.13) Dollars; three thousand four hundred thirty-four and 12/100 43,434.12) dollars, or 895/1000 (,$.895) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets, there being 3837 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; and six thousand four hundred sixty-seven and 1/100 ( 6,467.01) dollars, or one and 27/100 ($1.27) per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of street including four-inch (4) house connections to back of curb, there being 5092.13 feet abutting said portion of said improvement, all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said diAtrict, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Ryberg Brothers, dated the 8th day of April, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned; Sewer in Center of Street, including 4-inch house i,,,nnections to back of curb. 8th West St. Beginning at a point 207 feet south and 66 feet east of the south- east corner of Block 4, Plat 'C"; thence southerly along the west side of 8th West Street 304.4 feet. Beginning at a point 535.4 feet south and 66 feet east of the southeast corner of Block 4, Plat "C"; thence -2- southerly along the west side of 8th West Street 389.2 feet. The east side of lots 1 to 13, inclusive, Block 3; the east side of lots 1 to 13, inclusive, Block 6, Muscatine Place Subdivision, Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; beginning at a point 75.66 feet south and 1.56 feet east of the southeast corner of lot 13, Block 6, Muscatine Place subdivision, being a part of Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West; thence southerly along the west side of 8th West Street 1153.52 feet; the west side of the south 50 feet of lot 30, the west side of lot 29, Block 3; the west side of lots 29 and 30, Block 2; the west side of the south 65 feet of lot 29, Block 1, Albert Place Subdivision; the west side of lots 14 to 26, inclusive, Block 2; the west side of lots 14 to 26, inclusive, Block 7, Muscatine Place Sub- division; the west side of lots 17 ;.tc 27, inclusive, J. The south side of the west 90 feet of lot 13, the south side of lot 14, Block 6; the south side of lots 13 and 14, Block 5, Muscatine Place Subdivision, Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; beginning at a point 75.66 feet south and 58.44 feet west of the southeast corner of lot 13, Block 6, Muscatine Place Sub- division., being a part of Sec. 11, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence westerly along the south side of Fremon0i Avenue 715 feet; the south side of lots 1 to 21, inclusive, the south side of the west 13 feet of lot 22, the south side of lots 23 to 26, inclusive, the south side of the east 17.5 feet of lot 27, Block 2; the north side of lots 1 to 29, inclusive, Block 1, Albert Place Subdivision; the north side of the east 73 feet of lot 29, the north side of lots 80 to 45, inclusive, J. Bolton 8e Co's Subdivision of Cobb's Addition; the south aide of the east 633 feet of the west 693 feet of the north 194.5 feet of lot 3, all in Block 8, 5-Acre Plat "B", Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon -3- the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole aim unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum payable at the time each installA ment is due, to wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years after Said ordinance ' becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance .beooies effective, and one-fifth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the ordet in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the spe©ial tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and pay- able, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more install- ments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
