An ordinance levying a tax for the assessment of property on Seventh East Street between Third and Fifth South Streets, in paving district No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27, for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 4 and 5, Block 31; 1 and 6 to 8, inclusive, Block 32; 1 and 8, Block 39; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 40, Plat "B", Salt Lake Cityursey, abutting on both sides of Seventh East Street between Third and fifth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering and curbing with cement, and paving with Utah rock asphalt eight (8) inches thick, the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot front- age upon said portions of said streets.fronting upon and to a depth twenty-five feet back therefrom,and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eighteen thousand seven hundred eighty three and 83/100 ($18,783.83) dollars; nine thousand six hundred thirty four and 84/100 ($9,634.84) dollars, or seven and 457306/1,000,000 ($7.457306) dollars per front or 11? linear foot of abutting property for two 24-foot roadways, with 24-foot Park between, there being 1292 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; nine thousand one hundred forty eight and 99/100 (09,148.99) dollars, or six and 931053/1,000,000 .(06.931053') dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for roadway 72 feet wide, there being 1320 feet abutting said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is the total cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said woek and making said improvement, with P. J. Moran, dated the 23d day of June, 1913, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accord- ance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Seventy-two Foot Roadway With double track) The west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 31; the East side of Lots 1 and 6 to 8,inclusive, Block 32, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey; - Seventy-two Foot Roadway (24-ft. Park) The East side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 39; the West side of Lots 2 and 5, Block 40; the West side of the South 151 ft. of Lots3, Block 40; the West side of the Borth 151 ft. of Lot 4, Block 40, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid, at the rate of six per cent per ennum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ar dinr_,nce becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective, and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tamp may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the ]e vy of the tax becomes effeoti e, without interest. In the event of any installment of the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installmen and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Paving Extension No. 89. First and Final Estimate.
