118 of 1910 - Ordinance 118 of 1910 – Sewer Extension No. 249, Third Partial Estimate. AN ORDINANCE . An ordixenoe levying a tax and for the assessment of property on all streets within the district bounded on the north by the center line of Ninth South Street, en the east by the east property line of West Temple Street; en the loath by the north property line of Roper Avenue, and on the west by the west property lime of Second West Street, in Sower District No. 2, for the construction of sewers. Be it ordainet by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the sane upon the property hereinafter described in Sower District *e. 2, for the construction of sewers, to•wit: In Lots 1 to 20, inclusive, Block 1; 11 to 20, inclusive, Bleak inclusive, 2, Thorn Sabdiyisicn, Bleak 23; 1 to 21,/\Bleak 3; 1 to 17, inclusive, Bleak 1; 2 to 14, inclusive, Bleck 4, West Drive Subdivision, Block 23; 1, and 6 to 20, inclusive, Block 2; 14 to 21. inclusive, Block 1,, Jefferson Street Subdivision, Block 23; 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 end 20, Bleak 23; 1, and 25 to 46, inclusive, Bleck 2; 1 to 46. inclusive, Block 1, Hunter's Subdivision, Block 23; 2 to 23, inclusive, Block 2, Glenn Subdivision, Block 23; 1, and 11 to 57, inclusive, Bleak 1; 1, and 11 to 57, inclusive, Block 2; 5 to 28, inclusive, Block 3, West Boulevard Subdivision, Bleak 23; 1, Bleak 2, Harrington, Donnelly and Newell's ! Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of First West Street between Ninth South Street and Roper Avenue; en both sides of Washington Street between Ninth South Street and Fayette Avenue; on the south side of Geltz Avenue between West Temple and First West Streets; en both sides of Fremont Avenue between West Temple and First West Streets; en both sides of Paxton Avenue between West Temple and First West Streets; on both sides of the right of way through Lot 20, Block 23 (between West Temple and First West Streets); -2- en both sides of Jefferson Street between Mead and Roper Avenues; sad on both sides of Mead Avenue between West Teaple and First West Streets, This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri- fled pip. sewers tea (10), and twelve (12) inches ix diameter upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereiabefore and here- inafter described to be sspesially affected and benefited by said im- provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and unifora rate ix accordance with the linear foot front- age upon said pertioas of said streets fronting upon sad to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefroa, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirteen thousand five hundred sixteen and 12/100 ($13,516.12) dollars, or 9991105/10,000,000 (40.9991105) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer in center of streets, there being 13528.16 fest of abutting prop- erty within the boundaries of the lots, blocks aad streets above men- tioned ix said district, which is the total cost and test per front feet of said sower, according to the oontraet entered into for the performance of said work and making said iaprevonent with James Ken- nedy Coaatraeti.x Company, dated the 7th day of February, 1910, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized sad directed to assess ix accord- axeo with the previsions of this ordinance for the purpose herein aextieaed: Sewer Center uj^ Streets. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal nearly installments, with interest on the whole sun unpaid at the rate of six per sent per unman, payable at the time each installment is due, to.-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance isonfirnin; the levy of the tax for the payment for suoh improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after sueh approval; one-fifth thereof lin throe years after sueh approval; ono-fifth thereof in four years after sueh approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such lapproval. One or more of said installments, in the order ix which they are payable, or the whole epeeist tax may be paid at any tine within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the , levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any installment ! or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said ix- stallment and interest are due, shall begone due and payable, and shall ;draw interest at the rate of eight per sent per annum until the sale of ',the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order , in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid , en the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3,( This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
