An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on the west side of Ninth West Street between Second South and Fifth
South Streets, and between Sixth South and Seventh South Streets, in
Sidewalk District No. 21, for the construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of.'-Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council dpes hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, in Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Kelsey
and Gillespie Subdivision, Block 41, Plat "C"; in Lots 1 and 52,
Block 1, in Lots 1 and 52, Block 2, Silver Park Subdivision, Block
32, Plat "C"; in Lots 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 8, in Lot 1, Block
8, City Park Subdivision, Block 29, Plat "C"; and in Lots 1 and 8,
Block 17, Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the west side
• of Ninth West Street between Second South and Fifth South Streets
and between Sixth South and Seventh South Streets, in Sidewalk Dis-
trict No. 21, said property having a frontage of 2,480 feet along
said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon
said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand nine hundred
and eighty-four ($1,984.00) dollars, or 80/100 ( o.80) dollars per
front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated
cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer is hereby,.

authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, All of Lots 1
and 2, Block 2, all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Kelsey and Gillespie
, Subdivision, Block 41, Plat "C"; all of Lots 1 and 52, Block 1, all

t upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty five-.(25)
feet-back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6)
equai installments, as follows, to-w it: One-sixth thereof shall be-
cone and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax

shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
