An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on the streets of the built up portion of the north bench on which
sidewalks have not been built, in. Sidewalk District'. Nos. 24 and
25, for the construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECCIO'ti 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Solt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Districts Dos.
24 and 25, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-writ:

This tax is levied to defray the e:aeonse of constructing
cement sidewalks five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon
the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore an
hereinafter described. to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and estab-
lished that said property will be especially benefited thereby to
the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land
are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance wit
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets frontiig
upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land
is thirty-six thousand one hundred ninety-four and. 41/1O0 (p56194.,-1)

SLCTIOS 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per arnium, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-nit: One-fifth thereof one,yea.r after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years a.fte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in throe years
after said. ordinance becomes effective; ono-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there-
" of iii five years after said ordi,u nee becomes effective. One or
more of said in tnllments, in the order in which they are ca•_ebl.e,
or the whole special tat:, me': be paid at any time within '-hirty
days after the ord,_i:unce confirming the levy of the tax becomes

effective, without interest. In the event of any instellr.ient or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes

• installment and interest are dale, shall become due and payab'_e,'

and shall draw interest at the rate of eight -oor cunt per annum
until the sale of iLe property assessed; provided, one or more
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole
special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes
due, by paying the -amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
