R. Cox Associates, adopted by ordinance, BILL NO, 12 of 1966, known as Section 25-4-5(a) of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to non civil service position titles and classifications and salary range. The following job titles are therein affected: Buyer I, Accountant I, Accountant II, Parking Meter Collector I, Chiefs of Party, Groundsman I and Minute Clerk in the City Recorder's Office. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sec. 25-4-5, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to officers and employees, salary schedule, and Sec. 25-4-6, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to officers classified and salaries. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That Sec. 25-4-5 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to officers and employees salary schedule, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 25-4-5. Position Titles and Classifications and Salary Range. (a) Non-Civil Service Officers and Employees. The non- civil service position titles and classifications, as numbered, and with the salary ranges, as proposed and recommended and shown in Exhibit I of the Job Evaluation and Salary Study of Salt Lake City Corporation, December, 1965, prepared by E. R. Cox Associates, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Recorder, are hereby adopted and declared as and for the position titles and classifications and the salary ranges for all non-civil service officers and employees of Salt Lake City, effective January 1, 1966, said position titles being grouped under the following titles: 1. Principal Administrative Positions 2. Office and Allied Supervisory Positions 3. Office and Allied Positions 4. Professional and Technical Positions 5. Maintenance, Service and Operator Supervisory Positions 6. Maintenance, Service and Operator Positions (b) Civil Service Position Titles, Classifications and Salary Ranges. The civil service position titles and classifications, as numbered, and with the salary ranges, as proposed and recommended, and shown in Exhibit V of the said Job Evaluation and Salary Study, referred to in subsection (a), a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Recorder, are hereby adopted and declared as and for the position titles and classifications, and the salary ranges, for all civil service positions in Salt Lake City, effective January 1, 1966, said position titles being grouped under the following heads: 1. Elected officials' secretaries employed after January 1, 1966, to begin at Step C, Class 7, with future raises to follow the time schedule beginning with employment date. (e) Present Salary Status Preserved. Except as provided other- wise in subsections (b), (c), (d) and (h) of this section, all officers and employees in the employ of the city as of December 31, 1965, shall be placed in the salary step increase category adopted by this section at the step grade level equivalent to that occupied by them as of December 31, 1965, and shall thereafter be entitled to salary step increases according to the salary step increases hereby adopted. (f) Time Schedule "B". The following civil service positions shall follow Time Schedule "B", set forth in subsection (a) hereof in salary step increases: Firemen Public Health Nurse Bacteriologist I Patrolmen Registered Nurse Bacteriologist II Policewomen Sanitarian I Inspector Weights & Measures Meter Readers Sanitarian II Weighmaster Personnel presently employed as follows: Police Health Police Clerk I Clerk Typist I Police Clerk II Stenographer Clerk Key Punch Operator Nursing Supervisor Tabulating Machine Operator II (g) Uniform Allowance. In addition to the salaries herein pro- vided for members of the Fire Department and the Police Department, each officer and employee, except employees not required to wear a uniform, shall be paid the sum of $15.00 per month as a uniform allowance. (h) Transition Schedule for Present Personnel in Civil Service to Adopted Salary Plan. All officers and employees of the Police and Fire Departments, except Chief of Police and Fire Chief, and all officers and employees of the Department of Public Health, except the Health Commissioner and 1st and 2nd Assistant Health Commissioners, and all officers and employees in the Weights and Measures Department shall pass from the salary plan existing prior to the adoption of this ordinance to the salary plan adopted by this ordinance in accord- ance with the transition schedule for present personnel to Proposed Salary Plan as detailed and shown in Exhibit VI of the Job Evaluation 12 -5- and Salary Study, Salt Lake City Corporation, December, 1965, by E. R. Cox Associates, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Recorder of Salt Lake City." SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is neces- sary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
