An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of Second West Street from the north side of South Temple Street to a point 330 feet north of Seventh North Street, in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of providing for the curbing and guttering thereof. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lots 1, Block 156, 1; 6, 7 and 8, Block 151; 1 and 8, Block 138; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 133;, 1 and 8, Block 120;, 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 115; 1 and 8, Block 102; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 97; 1 and 8, Block 84; 4, Block 157; 4 and 5, Block 150; part of the southeast quarter of Section 25, Township 1 north, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 139; 4 and 5, Block 132.; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 121; 4 and 5, Block 114; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 103; 4 and 5, Block 96; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 85, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Second West Street from the north side of South Temple Street to a point 330 feet north of Seventh North Street, in Paving District No. 28, said property having a frontage of 11, 154 feet along said street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of curbing and gutter- ing with cement (said gutter to be thirty (30) inches wide) said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said imm,:rovement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is thirteen thousand nine hundred 5 aid -2- forty-two and 50/100 ($13,942.50) dollars, or one and 25/100 ($1.25) dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear foot of said curb and gutter, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein men- tioned: All of Lot 1, Block 156, All of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 151, All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 138; All of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 133, All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 120, All of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 115, All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 102, All of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 97, All of Lots 1 and 8, Block 84, All of Lot 4, Block 157, All of Lots 4 and 5, Block 150, Part of the southeast quarter of Section 25, Township 1 north, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 139, All of Lots 4 and 5, Block 132, All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 121, All of Lots 4 and 5, Block 114, All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 103, All of Lots 4 and 5, Block 96, All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 85, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6) equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- come delinquent one month after the approval of this ordinance; one- ' sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years af- ter such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after such appro- val; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw in- terest at the rate of six per cent per annum fromdate of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear it _3_ interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its I date of delinquency. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
