Main and Second East Streets, in Paving District No. 28, for the
purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, and
paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Connell of Salt Luke City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
.
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of providing
for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving; of a portion of
said district, to-wit:
In Lots 5 and 6, Block 35, and 1 and 2, Block 38, all in Plat
"A", abutting on both sides of Fifth South Street between agate and
Second East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering
and curbing, and paving with asphalt (said, asphalt pavement to be -
seventy-two (72) feet wide between curbs, and nine and one-half
(9-1/2) inches thick), the portion of said street opposite the prop-
erty hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affect-
ed and. benefited by said ir:provement, and it is hereby adjudged, de-
termined and established that said property will be especially benet
fited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said
parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
a000rdanoe with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said
street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back
therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said
parcels of land is twelve thousand ninety and. 13/100 ($12,090.13)
dollars, or nine and 159186/1,000,000 ( 9.,159196) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for grading, guttering and curb-
ing, and paving the street above mentioned in raving District No.
28, there being 1320 feet of abutting property within the bound ie
of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in. acid distril -

which is the total cost and cost per front.foot of said pavement,
according to the contract entered into for the performance of said
work and making said improvement, with 7. J. Moran, dated the 4th
day of May, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and direct-
ed to ssess in a:lcordaace with the provisions of this ordinance for

one-tenth thereof in four years after such approval; one-tenth there-
of in five years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in six years
after such approval; one-tenth thereof in seven years after such
approval; one-tenth thereof in eiEht years after such approval; one-
tenth thereof in nine years after such approval; and one-tenth there-
of in ten years after such approval. One or more of said install-
ments or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the
approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest
to date of payment. Each of seid installments shall boar interest
at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the appro-
val of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date
of delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency
until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall teke effect upon approval .

September 14, 1908, and referred to the Mayor for his approval.
