Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 18-6-5 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to personnel - health and disease control in eating and drinking establishments, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: Sec. 18-6-5. Personnel. Health and disease control. No person affected with any disease in a communicable form, or while a carrier of such disease, or while affected with boils, infected wounds, sores, or an acute respiratory infection, shall work in any area of a food service establishment in any capacity in which there is a possibility of such person con- tanimating food or food contact surfaces with pathogenic organisms or transmitting disease to other individuals; and no person known or suspected of being affected with any such disease or condition shall be employed in such area or capacity. If the manager or person in charge of the estab- lishment has reason to suspect that any employee has contracted any disease in a communicable form or has become a carrier of such disease, he shall notify the Health Authority immedi- ately. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissionxs, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
