An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of proper o.
both sides of all north and south streets froze the south side of
South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, from
I Second East Street to Tenth East Street, both streets inclusive, in
Yawing Districts Nos. 27 and 28, for the purpose of providing for th
curbing and. guttering thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and •
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving Districts Nos. 27 and 28, for, the curbing and
guttering of certain streets therein, to-wit:
In Lots 1 and 6, Block 57; 1, d, 7 and $, Block 56, Plat "B"; 2,1
3, 4 and 5, Block 36; and 4 and 5, Block 29, Plat "F", abutting on
both sides of Tenth East Street between South Temple and Second South
Streets.
This tax is levied to defr .y the expense of curbing and guttering
the portions of said street opposite the proporty hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said
improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined. and established

that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full
; amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear
foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon. and to
a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land in three thousand
five
rax hundred sixty-one and 25/100 (G3,561.25) dollars, or one and
3,469,584/10,000,000 (G1.3,489,584) dollar:; per front or linear foot
of abutting property for curbing and }g`attoria; said portions of the
street above mentioned in saving Districts 7os. 27 and 28, there being
2640 feet of abutting property within the boundnrieu of the lots,
blocks and street above mentioned, which is the total cost and cast

pertfront foot of said curbing and guttering according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said improve-
ment with J. D. Manley, dated the 14th day of September, 1908, and
the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accord-
' anoe with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein
mentioned:

of said oity to a depth of twenty.-five (251 feet b'aq from said
street, and to collect said tax.
SECTICX 2. Said4ex shall become and be delinquent in five equal
installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
Ithe approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment ro:r such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One o
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day

any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interns'
to date of payment. Each of said installments shall boar interest ao
the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date o f the approval
I of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date of delin
que.ncy, end eight (8) p;r cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
