Green v° - Neslen � Scheid Mr. Chairman Result I, AN ORDINANCE An Ordtnanoe levying a tax for the assessment of property on both sides of Regent Street between First South and Second South Streets, in Lighting District No. 5, of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of furnishing and erecting in place en- tire lighting system, consisting of 11 ornamental standards, eleven 6.6 ampere arc lamps, conductors, wiring, etc. complete, ready for operation. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1: That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assess- ment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lighting District No. 5, of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of furnishing and erecting in place entire lighting system, con- sisting of 11 ornamental standards, eleven 6.6 ampere arc lamps, conductors, wiring, etc. complete, ready for operation: In Lots 2,3,6, and 7, Block 70, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Regent Street between First South and Second South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of fur- nishing and erecting in place entire lighting system, consisting of 11 ornamental standards, eleven 6.6 ampere arc lamps, con.. 122 I � i ti ductors, wiring, etc. complete, ready for operation; nine of li said lamps to be operated on the 12 p.m. schedule and the re- maining two lamps to be operated on the all-night schedule; l and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described will be es- pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax here- by levied and assessed, and said parcels of land are hereby ! assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the ! linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street, lots hand blocks fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assess-} ed upon said parcels of land is three thousand seven hundred seventy-nine and 59/100 (43779.59) dollars, or 2 and 952/1000 (42.952) dollars per front foot or linear foot of abutting 1 property, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of the abutters' portion of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said I � improvement, with the Salt Lake Electric Supply Company, dated April 22nd, 1918, and there is hereby assessed for the purpose herein mentioned, the following property, to-gait: Commencing 112 ft. east of the N.W. corner of Lot 6, Block 70, Plat "A"; thence South 1° 20' W. 660 ft., being pa*t of Lots 3 and 6, Block 70, Plat "A"; 1 Commencing 2.23 ft. West of the N.W. corner of Lot 7, Blook 70, Plat "A"; thence South 1° 16' West 177 ft, being a part of Lot 6, Block 70, Plat "A"; And commencing 16.58 ft. West of the S.W. corner of Lot 2, Block 70, Plat "A"; thence North 1° 16' East 443.35 ft., being a part of Lots 3 and 6, Block 70, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as appears upon the assessment lists and plats as prey- 1 • I I i S. ,pared by the City Engineer, and filed with the City Recorder, as provided in 2 and 3 of Chapter 96 of the Laws of Utah, 1915. 11 SECTION 2: Said tax shall become and be delinquent; in equal annual installments, the first of which shall become dew. linquent in thirty days after this ordinance becomes effective, ;and the second in one year from said date, and the third in two 'years from said date, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at !the rate of 6 per cent per annum, payable annually; the whole tax or one or more installments thereof, may be paid without interes *within thirty days after this ordinance becomes effective. Unle s ;default is made in the payment of any installment of such tax, ohs 'or more installments in the order in which they are made payable for the whole special tax, may be paid on the day any installment it becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of 1payment. Default in the payment of any such interest, when due, shall cause the whole of the unpaid principal to become due and (payable immediately, and the whole amount of the unpaid prinoipak 'and accrued interest shall thereafter draw interest at the rate Hof ; eight per cent per annum until the day of sale; but at any time ; prior to the day of sale, the amount of all unpaid installments ( then due, with interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum land all accrued costs may be paid, and thereafter the right to pay any installment shall exist in the same manner as if default hal not been made.
