AN ORDINANCE.
An Ordinance amending and re-enacting Section 15 of an ordinance
granting a franchise to the Utah Home Telephone Company, effective
December 1, 1902, which Franchise was thereafter assigned and transferred
to the Utah Independent Telephone Company by express consent of the
City Council.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,Utah:
Section 1. That Section 15 of an ordinance granting a franchise to
the Utah Home Telephone Company, effective Dec, 1, 1902, which franchise
was thereafter transferred to the Utah Independent Telephone Company
by express consent of the City Council, be, and the same is hereby amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
Seotion 15. In consideration of the granting of the rights and
privileges herein given, and the acceptance of this franchise, the
Utah Home Telephone Company hereby agrees to give to Salt Lake City one
per cent of its gross earnings in Salt Lake City during the life of
this franchise, said sum to be paid to the City Treasurer of said City
on or before the second Monday in January of each year. And the above
consideration shall be in lieu of all rentals, license fees and taxes
upon the business of said Telephone Company.
Section 2. The Utah Independent Telephone Company must accept
this ordinance on or before five days after its approval by the Mayor.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
